About Us

Verucamag is a Vancouver, Canada based arts/culture publication. We interview acclaimed and aspiring female artists of all forms. Founded by Avery Nowicki.

Avery Nowicki is a Vancouver based writer and journalist. She is the founder of Veruca Magazine.

She has served as a reader for PRISM, and EVENT Magazine. In 2023, she spearheaded the program editorial for Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF23). She served as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Capilano Courier Publishing Society and the co-organizer for NASH88. Nowicki is obtaining a B.F.A. in Creative Writing from UBC.

Nowicki’s work has been published in Broken Pencil Magazine (Toronto, ON), Local Wolves Magazine (Long Beach, California), The Discorder (Vancouver, BC), and The Ubyssey (Vancouver, BC).
